Perfectly groomed trails lead you directly to the Turmbaude on the Rennsteig. Sometimes he hides behind the fog, then it's not worth climbing up (1 euro, turnstile). In summer you have a wonderful view from the Eselsberg.

Very nice view from the tower in good weather on large parts of the Rennsteig (to the Schneekopf) and also on the Rhön.
