The main train station, built of red sandstone in classical neo-Baroque style, was inaugurated in 1906 as the new central station in the presence of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The arrangement of its details such as the 40-meter-high tower, the pavilion and the hall are designed according to picturesque aspects. Inside, the station - unlike the outside - made of yellow sandstone. Due to the growing number of passengers of the former spa town, the new station was necessary. As a terminus the spa guests were spared the steps of climbing.
After its renovation, the main station has been continuously expanded in recent years to shops, so that can be purchased outside the usual opening hours here. 🚴♂️wiesbaden.de/tourismus/sehenswertes/bauwerke-gebaeude/Hauptbahnhof.php
