The 4 "Monks without a Face" are called the "Guardians of Time" and are by the artist Manfred Kielnhofer from Austria. They were placed at the Eichsfeld Cross at night and in fog - as a sign of solidarity. They had to be removed from there because there was no permit for them to be set up. They were stored in Wanfried and picked up there by the owner. After a few weeks they were set up again near Döringsdorf on the column path towards Keudelsstein
