The Verlandungszonen the ponds on the Westerwald Lake District had namely until the beginning of the 20th century neither Schrefröhricht nor willow bushes, were lined only by Seggenzonen, at the confluence in Dreifelder Weiher perhaps also from Rohrglanzgras (Phalaris arundinacea). The shores of all the ponds were grazed by municipal herds or rented by the lumber, mowed annually.
