Almost the entire Alster is accompanied by great cycling and hiking trails. An absolute must.

Suitable for a bike ride. On the weekend in nice weather, it can be very busy. Cycling is appropriate with regard to pedestrians and moderate speed.

Depending on the day of the week, time of day and weather, some sections towards Hamburg (Poppenbüttel, Wellingsbüttel) can be very busy. (Cyclists, pedestrians with and without children, prams or dogs). But the Alster is very beautiful and there are always benches on the shore, where you can just enjoy the nature around the Alster.

Although it is a hiking trail, friendly cyclists are treated equally. Being together on the way is very pleasant and you can talk to someone quickly if you want to.
