This bronze sculpture marks the culmination of urban renewal works in the Rue des Religieuses district. The nun commemorates the presence of the White Ladies, the Sisters of Charity of Notre-Dame. They were once installed at the beginning of Rue Dupont - originally Rue des Religieuses. Two putti placed at his feet complete the work of Vinciane Renard, to whom we owe the ancient trades on Urban Boulevard. The sculpture, which has no body but two parts of the dress, is inspired by Chryselephantine: this technique enhances the contrast between the dress (in patinated bronze) and the rest (in painted bronze): the face, the hands of The Nun and the putti at the foot of the dress are reminiscent of ivory. You will notice the small boldness of the cornet worn by the nun. which takes us back to the time of Sister Clotilde in the gendarme of St-Tropez. The skirts of the dress reach down the steps of the stairs as if to show this statue's roots in the town of Marche-en-Famenne.
