The quartzite rock lying on the northern edge of the plateau is popularly called Brunhildisfelsen. Postcards with this name are preserved from the 18th and 19th centuries. This name is said to go back to the Siegfried saga, as here Brünhild once said to have been put to sleep. The rock was first mentioned in documents as the point of a borderline description of the Bardo deed in 1043 as "lectulus Brunhildi" (Bettlein der Brunhilde) 🚴♂️de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gro%C3%9Fer_Feldberg
