Siebengeschossiger, semicircular shell tower from the 14./15. At a height of 40 m and a diameter of 9.9 x 10.3 m, it occupies a special position under the towers. One of the city's most distinctive landmarks. Repair in 1975/76 by the association Alt-Gmünd, who also moved a new staircase and shelves to make the tower accessible to the public. The king's tower was an element in the southern part of the outer city fortification of Schwäbisch Gmünd. Due to its elevated position on the slope of the Zeiselberg and its height of over 40 meters, it is a landmark in the cityscape of the old town.
