The IJsselpad is a long-distance footpath along the entire length of the IJssel. The path is divided into eleven stages. It starts at the point where the IJssel splits off from the Rijn at Westervoort and ends at Ramspol, at the end of the IJssel estuary. In between, it runs as much as possible along the IJssel, over the dike or through the floodplains. We only looked for and found an attractive route through the hinterland if there was absolutely no other option, for example because a dike is closed or because that dike is occupied by a provincial road.
