Very picturesque, in the middle of a wooded area directly on the Schlei, lies the castle Louisenlund. Today a private school with boarding school is housed here. What Princess Louise received in 1766 on the occasion of her marriage to Carl von Hessen-Kassel, became a kind of garden for her scientifically interested husband Eden: The famous Mason made here create a park, which he used, among other things for the mysterious temple work of his lodge. For a long time, buildings and symbolic paths and places were almost lost.Since the year 2000, the alto-philologist and retired teacher Dr. Alf Hermann with students to clear parts of the Masonic Park, ausblildern and restore some of the buildings. His three-hour guided tours through the park and the extensive grounds of Schloss Louisenlund are more than just a history lesson, because everywhere you can see visual axes, hidden tracks and signs - especially exciting, of course, around the remains of the Masonic or alchemist tower. "Even the armillary sphere, the famous sundial in front of the castle, has such a secret," reveals Dr. Eva Witzel from the Louisenlund Foundation. She also invites you on selected dates to spend an hour and a half exploring the park and the castle.
"The participants should be good on foot, because it is partly cross-country," says the art historian, who strongly recommends sturdy shoes. Registrations are required for the guided tours, conveniently via an online portal on the Internet.sh-guide.de/de/eintrag/stiftung-louisenlund-gueby
