The Felsenkeller in Heroldsberg is located in a depression below the Green Castle. The cellars were formerly used as storage cellars, but are no longer accessible.

Many of the Heroldsberg inns used to brew their own beer. In winter, blocks of ice were cut from the castle and Pretschers ponds and transported to the cellars, so that the beer could be stored there until midsummer.
