The Bastion of Burgundy is not far from the bridge of Cordemois. It was built in 1680 by Vauban. Together with the Bastion of Brittany and the Bastion du Dauphin, this fortified building was spared during the dismantling of the 19th century. That is why it is historically so special. Until 1958 it was used as a municipal slaughterhouse. In the late 1990s, it was restored by the Bouillon tennis club, which is still there today. The first floor, dedicated to the Ardennes painter Pierre Clouet (1920-1991), is used for cultural purposes. Many temporary exhibitions take place there. It has a very nice oak truss. The building has been listed since 1975.Source information board on site.
