Ebrach is considered the pearl of the Steigerwald. The famous monastery is the earliest monastery founded by the Cistercians on the right bank of the Rhine (founded in 1127). It is the mother monastery of nine other monasteries (including Heilsbronn). Despite baroque changes, the site is one of the most important early Gothic buildings in Germany. The baroque era was carried out by the three important Franconian master builder Balthasar Neumann, Johann Leonhard Dientzenhofer and Josef Greising. Stucco work in the church of Materno Bossi. Huge monastery complex grouped around sweeping courtyards. Some highlights only with guide to visit (from April to October at 11, 13 and 15 o'clock).
