The Düssel is a 40 km long right tributary of the Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia. It rises in Wülfrath-Blomrath on the city limits to Velbert-Neviges in the district Mettmann. After passing through the cities of Wülfrath, Wuppertal, Mettmann, Haan and Erkrath, it flows four-armed into the Rhine in the city of Düsseldorf. The Düssel is the namesake for the Wülfrather district Düssel and the local house Düssel, the city of Dusseldorf and its district Düsseltal.
