Hiking Highlight
Large central train station, through which all national and international railways flowed. Built at the end of the 19th century according to a project by José Luís Monteiro, it is presented according to a model of Neo-Manueline Renaissance architecture and iron, following the canons of the great European stations, with an area of platforms, covered by a wide iron visor, supported by a structure of columns, with neo-Gothic decoration, following the model of the Saint-Lazare station, in Paris, with a simple interior and facades with neo-Manueline decoration, where the classic scheme of a "mezzanine" was presented.

The Rossio railway station was built in 1887 in neo-Manueline style. The architectural jewel are the two horseshoe arches with their Moorish, twisted ropes made of stone.
