The profile of the embankment shows the cross-section of the embankment of the historic Rheinpreussen colliery railway, the cut-off rails of which can still be admired on the opposite bank today. The rails have been removed on this side, but the dam can still be clearly seen on the forest floor as a ridge one to two meters higher (photo). In the 1960s, the route led in a wide arc over the area of today's Waldsee and the railway embankment, which can still be seen today, in the direction of Homberg harbor and ended in the rail line that still runs next to the autobahn. If you look closely, you can still find coal residues in the molehills in some places on the railway embankment (see photo).
