The MuSea - Living Museum of the Sea is housed in the Vinciprova Castle of Pioppi. Opened to the public in 1996, it houses about 100 marine species in a series of tanks distributed in three rooms. Each of them therefore proposes a typical coastal habitat of Cilento, one of the Italian areas of inestimable beauty and of greatest environmental value, in which it is possible to dive by visiting the MuSea and its marine inhabitants. The management offers numerous events throughout the year, with a program aimed at schools for the spring and autumn period and the many tourists who attend it during the summer.

The Vivo del Mare Museum, a museum of regional interest located in the hamlet of Pioppi in the municipality of Pollica (Sa), was opened to the public in 1998 thanks to the joint efforts of the Marenostrum association and the municipal administration led by the late mayor Angelo Vassallo .
The Museum has been managed since January 2013 by Legambiente Onlus and is one of the most popular museum and educational facilities in the Campania region. It is housed in the Vinciprova Palace, a building of historical interest placed under the monumental protection of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities.
The Castle, as it is called by the inhabitants of Pioppi, was built in the seventeenth century by the Ripoli family, merchants originally from Catalonia but settled in Pollica during the rule of the Aragonese in Naples.
In 1888 it belonged to Giuseppe Sodano, lord of Pollica, who later gave it to the Vinciprovas of Omignano.
To this family belonged Pier Leone (called Leonino), officer one of the "Thousand" in the famous Garibaldi expedition, of which the "red shirt", the sword and the cap are preserved in the museum.
It is said that Alexandre Dumas (father), the famous French novelist, on 15 September 1860 landed with the schooner "Emma" in front of Palazzo Vinciprova to deliver about 400 rifles to Garibaldi's Thousand through Leonino Vinciprova, a trusted man of hero of the two worlds.
In 1986 the Palazzo Vinciprova was sold to the Municipality of Pollica by Prof. Lidia Vinciprova, the last heir of the family.
