This mill can be visited and it is worth it.
And it's true:
"Built in 1815, the mill today, as a technical monument, invites you to take an excursion into history.

The museum in the mill is dedicated to the history of milling in the region. About 150 years ago there were far more than 2,000 post mills in today's Oberhavel. One of the last post windmills is in the Vehlefanz district. In the midst of meadows and fields, it is almost as it was when it was built in 1815.It was used as a flour mill until 1945 and as a grist mill until 1965, before it was listed as a technical monument of old craftsmanship in 1977.From 1991 - 2007 it served as an exhibition space on the history of the windmills in our region and was part of the Oranienburg District Museum as an exhibition object. At the beginning of 2007, a safety inspection of the Vehlefanz post mill was carried out. It was found that the stability of the mill is no longer given. Extensive renovation work took place until October 2010.Source: reiseland-brandenburg.de/poi/ruppiner-seenland/museen/muehlenmuseum-bockwindmuehle-vehlefanz/?no_cache=1

Attention :We have chosen the 2 hours and 2 min route. Unfortunately, 30 min of it is walking along a busy highway without any possibility to get around it. Dangerous and not entertaining at all. We were really disappointed and the walk was wasted. Beside that, the area is nice and attractive. Just check the 2h 2min map and make sure you don’t choose the route from numbers 4 to 6. Have fun and stay healthy!
