Great views of the Fort National and ramp down to the beach trail to access it at low tide. The Fort National was built at the end of the 17th century on a small fortified island of Saint-Malo, designed by Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, known as the "fortress builder" of Louis XIV. After the French Revolution, the fort served as a prison for a long time. Today parts of the fortification can be visited via a footpath at low tide. Check the tide calendar to avoid getting stuck on the island at high tide.
