Quote: .... "At dawn (July 7, 1817) the two brothers Georg Adam Kiry (36) from Scheuern and Andreas Kiry (45) from Staufenberg set off. The two master butchers and cattle dealers had a tough day's march ahead of them , over to the Berneck cattle market in Württemberg. In their money belts - one as good as new, green stitched with a yellow buckle, the other already mended and with a steel clasp - there were 400 to 500 guilders - money enough to buy good Swabian cattle in Berneck. They In two hours they climbed steeply on the old wine route from Scheuern via Fechtenbuckel, Illert and Ahornwasen to 900 meters into the Reichental Forest. And there, in the "Drei Tannen" forest section, there were people lurking who had to know about the money belts. They fired shots , (which were heard by Reichental farmers during the hay harvest). When the two brothers were found, Georg Adam Kiry had already bled to death. Andreas Kiry was still alive, but died around 2 p.m. on the same day.
