The bronze memorial commemorates the three Herborner citizens Johann Heinrich Hoffmann, Ferdinand Nicodemus (with stick) and Albert Schumann (with hat).
Johann Heinrich Hoffmann (1830 - 1915) was the founder of the pump factory, the Volksbank, the gymnastics club and the history club.
Ferdinand Nicodemus (1854 - 1931) was a legal advisor, auctioneer, fire brigade commander, editor and city councilor.
Albert Schumann (1862 - 1940) was the rector of the United Elementary and Real School and a sponsor of the singing associations.The memorial shows the three men in life size. They stand together and talk, as they often did when they were alive.
The monument was created on the initiative of the Herborn History Association. It was designed by Wolfgang and Christoph Oester and financed by the city of Herborn, companies, friends and citizens of the city. It was inaugurated on June 3, 2005.
