Every now and then there is a special exhibition of glass production with all kinds of products made in Nieuw-Buinen.
One of the masterpieces in the museum, the tiled plateau of Herenstraat 101 (Gr), also has a lot to do with the German-Dutch cultural influence.
The building was designed by the well-known architect Van Elmpt, commissioned by the merchant Wreesmann from Friesoythe (D). The influential Wreesmann family, together with a few others from the Friesoythe area, were active in the Netherlands and in Groningen in particular.
