Hiking Highlight
Sebastian Kneipp (1821 - 1897) Roman Catholic priest, hydrotherapist ((water therapy) and naturopath. Founder of Kneipp medicine. Around 1846 he discovered the book "Lessons of the power and effects of fresh water in human bodies" by Johann Siegmund Hahn. He used the techniques on himself and bathed in the ice-cold Danube, made body affusions. From this he developed his Kneipp cure, which consists of five pillars: water applications and Kneipp affusions, phytotherapy - herbal medicine, exercise, nutrition, balance.
Quote: "Live quite sensibly and don't be outrageous against your body by asking more of it than it can handle, or in other words: don't act irrationally against yourself!" This is also where the Kneipp Active Trail starts.
