On September 28, 2013, the newly created reconstruction of the bronze sculpture by Ludwig Richter, created by the sculptor Markus Glaeser, was solemnly placed on the pedestal.

The Ludwig Richter monument was part of the ensemble of monuments by Gottfried Semper and Ernst Rietzschel in the vicinity of the art academy on the Brühlsche Terrasse in Dresden. The Richter monument was the only one to be melted down in 1943 for armament purposes. A part of the monument, namely the artistically forged fence, was also lost.

On the Brühlsche Terrasse stands a heavyweight of the painting art with approx. 750 kg.

The monument to the honorary citizen of Dresden, Ludwig Richter.

The monument to the honorary citizen of Dresden stands on Brühl's Terrace. It is worth a detour here and many benches invite you to take a short break.
