Schwedenhöhle (Gorisch)

Mountaineering Highlight

Recommended by 5 out of 5 people

  • Matzel

A 15m long, but very narrow, slit-like Klufthöhle. The gap is up to 4m high, in the middle, however, have a few crash stones wedged under which you only get bent over. The good light into the cave allows a survey even without a flashlight.
Served as a hideaway from Swedish troops in the Thirty Years' War from 1618 to 1648, like all Sweden caves in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains
