Hiking Highlight
The Landgrafenschlucht was opened up and made accessible by employees of the Society for Employment Promotion, Employment and Structural Development as part of job creation measures from 1992-1997 with funds from the Federal Employment Agency.
This has created an attractive hiking trail from the Mariental to the Weinstrasse. (... from information board)I say hat 🎩 off! An outstanding work done by the people who opened up the gorge at that time and built the paths and bridges. I wasn't aware of this before. Thank you very much for that!

Unfortunately, another hiking trail that is paved with highlights ;-(
So my text already written in the past in copied form:
The Landgrafenschlucht can be hiked through the gorge from the Hohe Sonne or from the Great Dragon Stone. Some places are narrow and quite muddy. You should therefore wear sturdy shoes and good clothing. The gorge itself offers a beautiful panorama of rock and green. You should just have gone through it.
I recommend the circular hike for the Hohe Sonne car park (free of charge) through the Langrafenschlucht gorge down and up the Drachenschlucht gorge, followed by a leisurely end to the Hohe Sonne grill.

A great addition to the Drachenschlucht. Not quite as "dramatic", but still worth seeing.

Of course not as beautiful and impressive as the Drachenschlucht, but still a beautiful hiking trail

The Landgrafenschlucht is a very beautiful gorge. Below it is quite wide and lined on both sides with rock faces, which are beautifully green with moss due to the humid air. A small stream meanders alongside the path. Higher up in the gorge it gets much narrower. The Landgrafenschlucht can be easily connected to the Drachenschlucht.
My advice:
First run the Landgrafenschlucht and then the Drachenschlucht as it is not quite as spectacular as the Drachenschlucht. Otherwise you will be disappointed by the Landgrafenschlucht. And: It's better to do the tour during the week, because then it's not as busy as on the weekend!
