The bunker is z.T. an artillery / anti-aircraft battery built around 1935 and used by the Wehrmacht. It was designed to protect the submarine network barrier in the Gedser Strait during the war.
Later parts were used by the 6th Border Brigade Coast of the NVA (National People's Army), which has also built some more bunkers for 7th Technical Observation Company. A bunker housed a heat locator, the second later the second transmitter transmitter radio measuring system and one of four radio transmitters prepared as a 1-tier monolithic bunker. A bunker is partially walkable and not (yet) threatened with falling. He was used by the border troops. The quite imposing concrete blocks around the bunker were for attachment to the tensions of the transmission towers. The open access is on the sea side away.

Due to the constant changes on the Baltic Sea, new bunker parts on the steep cliffs between Ahrenshoop and Wustrow are being exposed on the slope of the steep wall.
