The observation tower "Borgmanturm" was given the name of the founder of the Knüllgebirgsverein and its first chairman, Forstmeister Hugo Borgmann (1841-1906), who by the way had already built a 18 m high wooden tower in 1894, but only for 12 years Storm and weather had defied and 1906 had to be laid down.
With the Borgmann tower 1913 a refuge was built at the same time, which was increased in 1950 and in honor of the successor of Borgmann, the well-deserved by the Knüllgebirgsverein District Judge Harry Heußner, the name '' Heußner House '' received. The Borgmannturm, which offers a magnificent view, was raised in 1973 by one floor and got a new attic.
Do you enjoy the 26 m high, 100 years ago, built in 1913 observation tower with a wonderful 360 ° panoramic view, a great view. In the picturesque foreground, in the middle of a sea of forests, countless valleys and ridges join in the middle ground. After the horizon, however, the view is limited by formidable mountains, such as Thuringian Forest, Rhön, Vogelsberg, Taunus, Westerwald, Sauerland, Kellerwald, Reinhard's, hawk and Kaufunger forest and Meißner, to name just the most important.
