The hunting lodge, built around 1709 in the style of a large manor house - often also referred to as a hunting lodge - is considered an outstanding gem of baroque architecture in the Muldental. The architect was Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann, Oberhofjägermeister and senior minister in the cabinet of the Saxon Elector Friedrich August I and later King of Poland August II - called “August the Strong”.The high mansard roof greets visitors from afar. The tightly structured, richly painted facade shows itself in perfect harmony. The foyer on the ground floor was supported on both sides by four strong columns to allow a view of the Great Garden. A spacious staircase, preserved in the original, leads to the upper floor with a surprisingly stately ballroom, which is crowned by lush stucco and a large ceiling painting.
