Where freight trains rode up to Fehrbellin in the Havelland up to the middle of the 90s, one can cycle for a good year through the Havelländische Luch and the Rhinluch. The "Silent Pauline" is a bike path that runs from Paulinenaue to Neuruppin mostly on the former branch line.
Finest asphalt and only minimal gradients on the almost dead straight road provide carefree cycling happiness. From the end of the 19th century, the line provided Neuruppin's first railway connection to the economically important main line to Berlin, on which today the ICE race to Hamburg. Traveling by train is recommended on the same line as the Regional Express, which does not even take 40 minutes from the city of Berlin to Paulinenaue.

Since the end of 2010, when the bike path was built, I have been cycling there again and again.
have observed the thorough construction work, many different protective and underlayers. Therefore and because there are very few trees right on the bike path, the route is still wonderfully smooth. (see photos of the construction work)
Former Paulinenaue - Neuruppin railway line. As a bike path, unfortunately, only great up to Dammkrug, north of the motorway rather moderate.
