The refuge is idyllically located and only a few steps to the left of the main path. A detour is worthwhile. The hut was named after the poet Ludwig Uhland. He was also a lawyer and politician and member of the first all-German parliament, the Frankfurt National Assembly. He likes to spend his free time hiking in the Taunus, also around the source of the Roten Born.
