For more than 40 years, the swimming pool on today's Westschnellweg near Herrenhausen Gardens was the training pool for the Hanoverian swimming club from 1892. In the 1980s, the outdoor swimming pool in Leinemasch became an alternative club and concert location "Musiktheater Bad". Today the facility makes an abandoned and weathered impression and there is no longer any indication that future world stars were once guests on the air stage. Fans of electro, punk and wave music flocked to the club parties on the open-air area, but the gigs by comedian Helge Schneider in front of just seven spectators and the legendary appearance of the US-American, founded in 1987, were unforgettable Grunge band Nirvana with only around 100 fans.
