Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
So the route R7 from Wetzlar direction Weilburg personally did not like me so much. It often leads along main roads, you have to cross 2 times a busy intersection and the bridge crossings are very winding and half were also partly overgrown with bushes and stinging nettles. But then arrived in Weilburg and cycled high to the castle, all this was forgotten. The market square in front of the castle invites you to drink coffee, you can sit there very nice and enjoy the sun. The castle garden is also very nice, definitely make a little walk.
Can confirm Rita's experiences only half way - once you have to really uncomfortable the busy and fast driveway to cross the B49 to get back on the bike path and occasionally you should push for one or the other bridges up and down rather than drive, but at least that did not hamper my driving pleasure and at the end of April there was no trace of overgrown roads!
For beautiful, quiet ride mostly really right along the Lahn - even closer and you sit in it. Along the way lots of imposing castles or castle ruins. And the castle Weilburg is really worth a visit.
