The collegiate church is visible from afar. It has two different church towers. The bell tower accommodates a two-day Türmerwohnung and offers from there on top of a circulating viewing gallery a very good panoramic view of Neustadt.

The Collegiate Church of St. Egidius is the largest church in the Palatine town and was built in the Gothic style in the 14th century. In the Middle Ages it was one of the residences of the Palatinate. The double church has a Catholic and a Protestant part by the subsequent insertion of a partition wall.
