Erie's Rest by artist Ingrid Hu was unveiled in 2010 and was created alongside local ceramicist Beverley Gee and with families from Weaste and Ordsall.
It is inspired by, and mirrors, the ebb and flow of the Mancehster Ship Canal. Ingrid was also inspired by the tales of an ancestor who walked along both the canal floor during its construction and the canal's surface when it froze solid one winter.
