The hill rises to a height of 998 feet and enjoys views of eight counties. This hill forms part of England's main east/west watershed. Rain falling to the north-east of this spot flows out to the east coast, eventually via the River Trent and through the Humber estuary. Rainfall falling to the south-west flows down to the Severn estuary and the Bristol Channel.
