Right in the center of the city, directly opposite the Celle Castle, lies the Bomann Museum, one of the largest and most important museums in Lower Saxony. Founded in 1892 as the "Patriotic Museum", it was named in 1923 after its first director, Wilhelm Bomann. The Museum am Schlossplatz presents extensive collections on Lower Saxony's folklore and cultural history as well as on Celle's regional and city history.

Of course, Celle is worth a trip / bike trip. The beautiful old town with the great town hall and the Bomann Museum, as well as the castle are very worth seeing and easy to reach. The museum shows the history of the city and the region in a vivid way.
