Very nice building. For decades, it served the city authority as a city hall.

With a little tinkling of your own bicycle bell you can accompany the ringing a bit musically! Could also cause displeasure with other tourists

The Celler Glockenspiel plays in the Poststraße daily at 11, 13 and 17 clock. Previously played in 1973, the carillon at the house of the jeweler Fast on the market. After giving up the jewelery business and selling the house in 2005, the city of Celle took over the carillon and installed it at its current location, where it has been ringing since 2010.

The 16 bronze bells, made by the company Korfhage & sons from Melle, play tunes like u.a. "Into the wide world", "On, on, for the cheerful hunting", "Three birches on the heath" or "joy beautiful god spark". During Advent, Christmas carols are played. The chimes can also be played manually with a keyboard.

During restoration work in 1985, 13 color layers were discovered, which were applied over the centuries. Including lime, oil paint and art paint in gray, yellow and ocher yellow color. Outstanding was a layer of illusionist painting from the 17th century, which is unique in Lower Saxony and was restored in the same year on the northern part of the town hall. After major damage occurred in 2002, the facade was renovated and restored from 2006 to 2009 at a cost of 1.98 million euros.

Celle is always worth a visit for me, you can go shopping there, look at the beautiful old town, go to the pubs, bars ... and and and.
Of course, it is also great for cycling here.
