Schöneberg has been part of Berlin since 1923 and has always been a rich, independent city."It looks like a castle, but it is an underground station - the Carl-Zuckmayer-Bridge at Schöneberg Town Hall. The eponym lived around the corner."

In 1910 bridge builders decided - because a "late ice age depression" was in the way - not to pile up a mound, but to build a bridge to give the passengers of the subway a view of the countryside. They put the station under the bridge. Above, people should walk through the park on foot, keeping their trains under them. A modern as well as ingenious idea. The subway station 'Rathaus Schöneberg' is probably the only subway station with park view.
