The not so long way over the city wall of Alcúdia should not be missing in any tour of the old town. From here you have a partial view of the old town.

"Alcudia is probably Mallorca's oldest city and the city center of this historic town is still surrounded by an imposing and well-preserved city wall from the 14th century. The old town of Alcudia is almost completely enclosed by this city wall and part of the wall became part of it restored and is accessible.

A walk on the city wall offers a wonderful view over the roofs of the old town of Alcudia, the bay of Alcudia and Pollenca and the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana. In the following we present some interesting information about the city wall of Alcudia as well as a number of photos of the city wall and the old town of Alcudia, with the narrow streets, historical buildings, restaurants, cafes, small shops, and much more.

The construction of the city walls of Alcudia began at the end of the 13th century in 1298 and in 1362 the work was initially completed. In the following centuries, however, the system was continuously improved, as Alcudia was repeatedly exposed to attacks due to its strategic location in the north of Mallorca and directly on the sea. Among other things, the city walls were reinforced with three gates after the Germanic War in 1523, the Xara, Vila Roja and Església.
The city wall of Alcudia has an average height of 6 meters, and had up to 26 towers, which were distributed over a length of 1.5 kilometers around the old town. In addition, the city wall was surrounded by a moat, which is still preserved today. The Porta de Sant Sebastià (also called Porta de Mallorca) and Porta del Moll (also Porta de Xara) of the city gates are still preserved today and shape the image of the city. On the largely walkable outer wall you have a very good view of the old town of Alcudia, which dates from the Roman period.
