Road Cycling Highlight
If coming from Salisbury, instead of going down the A303, it's worth going down the cycle path, then crossing the road and going up the grass path to Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a must-see destination for any cyclist who happens to be in the area, much like the not too distant Avebury site (see highlight komoot.com/highlight/3309344).According to Wikipedia "Archaeologists believe that Stonehenge was constructed from 3000 BC to 2000 BC. The surrounding circular earth bank and ditch, which constitute the earliest phase of the monument, have been dated to about 3100 BC. Radiocarbon dating suggests that the first bluestones were raised between 2400 and 2200 BC, although they may have been at the site as early as 3000 BC."Considering that this man-made site has been standing for about 5,000 years and that some of its construction materials, sarsen stones weighing around 25 tons, were quarried and then transported by the builders from the Preseli Hills, 150 miles (240 km) away in modern-day Pembrokeshire in Wales we can only admire this feat of human ingenuity.Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonehenge

This is the best place to spot the monument without paying. It's almost the same path as the one that are paying. It's a must go!
