From the historic market square you can start a nice tour through the upper town of Marburg. The square used to be divided into the upper and lower market; In the Middle Ages, public judgment was held at the well. The stone town hall in late Gothic style was completed in 1527. At the top of the hour, the rooster crows the number of hours above the town hall clock. The stone house (Markt 18), which dates back to the 13th century, stands out from the half-timbered ensemble of the market square.

Marburg is definitely worth a stay. It was a bit difficult to get "up the mountain" due to construction work, but when you are "up" you will find a wonderful old town. Very good and well-kept half-timbering. In particular, the market square with the town hall is worth seeing.
