The idea for the bakery was born in 1977. In Seelenfeld near Petershagen on the Weser, after a long search, a suitable bakery was found. In 1979, the reconstruction in Bockhorst began in the spring of 1982 by 30 volunteers. 3000 working hours later, the Backhaus was officially inaugurated on September 11, 1982.The baking days are Wednesday and Thursday (Maundy Thursday) before Easter - on the two days each from 6 o'clock in 12 hours up to 9 "ovens" are baked. Per "oven" (= baking process) can be 30 to max. 40 crispy, warm rye-wheat mixed breads are baked, which are delivered by volunteer distributors to the home club.A small overhang of bread comes for sale to one or the other Bockhorster, who appreciates this delicacy. During the Bockhorster asparagus market a good 6 ovens are baked on market Sunday. Alternatively, you can taste individual, oven-hot slices, optionally with lard or liver sausage, taste.
