Shortly before the turn of the century, the merchant Wilhelm Goeres opened a rope and grocery store in the gatehouse, which was popularly known as “An't Treppken”. In 1957, the building was torn down and replaced by a modern commercial building. The group of houses next to it is now called "Klompenwinkel" after a shoemaker who also traded wooden shoes at the end of the 1970s. The building with the shield gable was built in 1640 and restored in the early 1980s. The door of the middle building leads to the old Brandgasse behind the houses on Fieselstrasse.

The Neutor, one of Moers' four city gates, once stood at the "Klompenwinkel" (Klompenwinkel). Hidden in a narrow Brandgasse (the "Dwarf Alley") parallel to Fieselstraße are small dwarf figures depicting typical crafts from the 19th century.
