Veringenstadt is criss-crossed by caves. One can discover one on each corner. Many caves were formerly used as cellars and the natural cavities expanded or integrated into the house.
The caves served our ancestors as accommodation.

The caves around Veringenstadt (over 40) form the archaeological focus for the Swabian Alb next to the Urach and Blaubeurener space for all pre- and early settlement epochs of man. In the Mühlberg cave, the formation of caves and the formation of the river landscape from the Ice Age through the Middle and Neolithic to the Alemanni can be studied impressively, which testify to the permanent presence of humans in the Lauchert Valley through scientific excavation finds of all settlement epochs.
