Bike Touring Highlight
The Bissendorfer Moor is a 110 ha high bog area west of Bissendorf in the Wedemark and to a large extent also in the municipality of Langenhagen in the district Kaltenweide. It lies within the Hannoversche Moorgeest. The Bissendorfer Moor is considered the best preserved high moor in Lower Saxony. It is part of an eponymous, about 500 ha nature conservation and FFH area. The thickness of the peat layer is up to 7 m. A historically important place is already belonging to Langenhagen Muswillensee. Source Wikipedia
