The Chausseehaus, built in 1825/30 on Freienwalder Allee in Werftpfuhl, was built as a customs post based on Schinkel's model.
The orphanage for girls, which was opened in 1907 as "Johannaheim" and named after his wife Johanna, was laid out by Eduard Arnhold. It stands in the former Vorwerk Werftpfuhl, which has belonged to Hirschfelde since 1928.
Brigitte Helm was a student who became known as an actress.
