The Ponale is a must for hikers and cyclists on Lake Garda. You hardly notice the difference in altitude, because the breathtaking scenery of Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains occupy the hiker too much. Don't forget the short turnoff up to the bunker! Unfortunately, everyone - hikers and cyclists alike are on the trail at the same time - so I recommend running out of season or at a quieter time of day if possible.
