If you want to see the beautiful nature from above in the flat Baltic Sea area, you should take a short excursion to the “Hermann-Löns-Blick”. The 20 meter high tower near Lake Hemmelsdorf offers hikers and holidaymakers a great view of the surrounding area. The nearby nature reserve of swamps and large forest areas can be seen particularly well from above. If you want to climb the tower, you have to plan a short walk through the forest.
The Hermann-Löns-Blick is named after the German writer and journalist Hermann Löns. He lived from 1866 to 1914. His passion was nature, which is what many of his literary works are about. The study of plants and animals and the protection of them were his main goal, which is why the observation tower in the middle of the nature reserve was named after him despite criticism of his political views.timmendorferstrand-travel.de/Regionales/Timmendorfer-Strand-Sehenswuerdheiten-Highlights/Hermann-Loens-Blick
