Bahnhof Drei-Annen-Hohne

A very special highlight in the Harz is the old Brockenbahn, which runs since 1992 regularly on the highest mountain in the Harz. This is a so-called "Adhäsionsbahn": Despite the steep track profile, the train climbs the summit solely due to the friction between the drive wheels and rails and comes without gears or the like. Thus, the track can boast the highest station of all German adhesion narrow gauge railways.

Enough of the technical highlights. Pure of the experience factor is such a train ride course exciting. If you still prefer to climb the bike to the Brocken, you have my full understanding of it.
